Bio
Malcolm Pulley is a Virginia native and lives near Charlottesville with his lovely wife Alex Butterfield. Recently retired from Ford Motor Company, he now has the time to pursue his lifelong passion – playing music! He may be best known for penning the bluegrass standard “In the Gravel Yard” recorded by Blue Highway, earning a song of the year nomination by the International Bluegrass Music Association.
Malcolm enjoys playing solo, with his wife Alex in the duo Little Birdies, and with his band mates in Cook County Bluegrass and the Big Boss Combo.

Malcolm preforms at wineries, breweries, clubs, farmer’s markets, and private parties. He plays a variety of sing-a-long songs featuring the acoustic and electric guitars. You will enjoy a mix of Classic Rock, Classic Country, Southern Rock, and Outlaw Country.

Malcolm and his wife Alex love to perform together as the Little Birdies. They play a variety of Appalachian style songs, bluegrass, and gospel…songs from the mountains sung from the heart!

Cook County Bluegrass
(4 Piece Bluegrass Band)
Tony Cook, a well known singer, songwriter, and exceptional front man, sings bluegrass, country, and his original tunes. The band features tight harmonies. Rounding out the band are Will Perkinson on mandolin, Danny Hughes on bass, and Malcolm Pulley on banjo.

The Big Boss Combo features high energy Bluegrass, Western Swing, and Americana music. Members include Jim Skelding (fiddle), Chris Fuller (mandolin), Danny Hughes (guitar), Bill Lux (bass), and Malcolm Pulley (banjo). Humorous banter abounds!
